Method
We pulled the public product catalogs of five top-ranked squishy sites in September 2026 — about 1,600 listings — and grouped them by shape, texture and format.
Shapes
Animals lead, food second, dumplings third and rising fastest. Cat paws are the single largest shape. Butter and cheese pieces grew from a novelty into a family of their own.
Textures
Creamy silicone and transparent glitter are the premium tiers; PU foam remains the volume tier. Flocked and glow finishes appear mainly as rarity items inside series.
Formats
Blind bags, full-case blind boxes and DIY kits are the fastest-growing formats. Advent calendars and seasonal drops are now standard on brand sites.
What it means for importers
Order animals and dumplings for volume, cat paws for rarity tiers, and hold novelty to one carton. Insist on no-water-bead fills; the September 2026 recalls make that a compliance line, not a preference.
