The numbers
Cat paws account for about 170 SKUs on the leading brand site, more than any single non-animal shape. They sell in transparent, flocked, neon-clear and jumbo variants, and they are the standard rarity-tier item in blind-bag programs.
Fills and the 5 mm rule
Transparent paws are where water beads traditionally hid. Under 16 CFR 1250.4 (in force since 12 March 2026), contained beads that expand beyond 5.0 mm are prohibited in US toys. Specify TPR gel with solid micro-beads and ask for the expansion test result — it is the one question that separates a compliant paw from a recall.
Sizes and packing
A supplier catalog we reviewed lists a glitter-gel cat paw at 7 × 6 cm, 107 g, 288 pieces per carton (24 boxes × 12), carton 65 × 27 × 54 cm. Jumbo paws (12 cm and up) pack at roughly a quarter of that density; ask for CBM per 1,000 pieces.
Retail positioning
Single paws sit at the $5 shelf in poly bags, blister 2-packs at $10, and glitter or flocked paws in blind bags at $12–17. The mould is the same; the finish and the packaging carry the margin.
Ordering
Mixed cartons by colourway are standard. Ask for a Children's Product Certificate that cites both ASTM F963-23 and 16 CFR 1250.4 (N/A statement).
