What Was Recalled
On 3 September 2026 the CPSC announced recalls of GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings (8,000 units, sold on Amazon) and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys (7,200 units, OKK Trading). Both contained water beads that expand beyond the permitted size.
The Rule Behind It
16 CFR 1250.4 took effect 12 March 2026. Water beads in toys — loose or sealed inside a squishy — must pass a 5.0 mm gauge when fully expanded, and the CPC must cite the section.
Three Questions for Your Supplier
Does the fill contain water beads or SAP? Show me the expansion test. Show me the CPC citing 1250.4.
What We Do Differently
No water-bead fills, expansion test on every batch, report number on the carton.
